The Present-Beach of Sabak

This is the Beach of Sabak near Kota Bharu the site where Japanese Army started their first salvo on Malaya before the southward invasion of Malay Peninsular and finally capturing Singapore. Until 10 years ago, there was a PillBox that has stood ground as a mark of British Defence. The beach then was at least 10 meter further than at it present site.

The stone wall was built in recent years to check on the erosion and as protection against the surge of wave during monsoon.

The Present-Suddenly you can't fly!

All passenger went onboard, only to hear the pilot announce that .....'due to bad weather at KLIA, the control tower had asked us to wait until weather clear'... oh boy it was nearly 1/2 hr wait on tarmac wait at Kota Bharu Airport. So I check out my toy, this is the result.

The Present - Arrival of Mechanical Giants

The towing adventure of these two mechanical giants ended after completing an 11 days sea voyage from Shekou,China. Weighing more than 1500 tonne and towering equivalent to 10 storeys building, both units were safely roll off the barge onto the jetty. She will sit there waiting to be commissioned soon, and will continue to work for the next 30 years or more. The elephant structres looks alike is actually a continuous bucket coal unloader. As the name suggest, it provided rapid and efficient transfer of coal from vessel to coal yard, for the purpose of fueling a power plant.
